Styles of Travel
Camping adventures throughout North America and Mexico for the 18 - 38 year olds. Over 50 unique itineraries from one to nine weeks in length. Travel in private transportation with a local guide.
How do we get around?
- Customised vehicles with air-conditioning, excellent stereo systems, specially designed roof racks for luggage and equipment, and a trailer or storage area to maximise space and comfort. Every group is virtually self-sufficient and able to explore the backroads "where the crowds can't go". Maximum 13 passengers.
- Central and South America use a variety of local vehicles that are best suited to the group size and local terrain. Typically they travel in 15-20 passenger vehicles, with all luggage carried on board. Other forms of local transport, including flights, local trains, horses and even canoes, may be employed to get into the heart of a particular region.
Trek America Crew
- Each tour has a professional driver/guide. Group participation is required on most itineraries.
Where Do We Stay?
- Campgrounds situated in stunning natural settings and near major city destinations. Nearly all the camps have full facilities such as showers, pools, shops, and laundramats. National Park's have pay showers, flush toilets and basic facilities.
- Comfortable, clean and centrally located hotels and lodges for all non-camping nights.
What About Food?
- Food Kitty - clients each contribute US$10 per day to a food kitty which covers three meals a day when camping. The kitty does not cover alcohol or soft drinks, meals when staying in hotels, or the occasional meal out at a restaurant. The group shares in the preparation and cooking of the food.
- On lodging tours, all meals, except those included where specified, are taken in local restaurants and paid for individually.
What Does the Price Include?
- Transportation, campsite fees, accommodation, National Park Fees, services of a experienced driver/guide, camping equipment (except sleeping bag), various attractions and activities
- Local Payment - payable on some South American itineraries, which off-set the cost of internal flights and park permits.
Who is the Trek Client?
